Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA)

(Program)

Provides two different group living environments:

Supervised IRAs: Offers small group living environments with 24 hour staff supports for a small number of adults with different abilities and are encouraged to be as independent as possible. Individuals received supports and services based on their individual needs.

Supportive IRAs: Offers supportive apartments where 1 to 2 people live in the same apartment and receive supports from staff. Individuals must be able to remain at home without staff, evacuate in case of an emergency, call for help and interact safely with neighbors, if needed.


 

Eligibility: Individuals ages 18 years and older with developmental disabilities who are unable to live independently and are enrolled in the HCBS Waiver program

Application Process: Referrals from families, service coordinators, or participants themselves; referrals are received through the Community Residential Opportunities centralized referral process coordinated by the regional office of OPWDD
