Oswego County Youth Court


Oversees a diversion program for first-time offenders from 7 to 18 years who have been charged with low-level crimes. Offenders are tried by their peers, who conduct hearings and decide the outcome/punishment for each case.

Eligibility: Court members: Students in grades 7th through 12th who complete the training program
Offenders: First-time offenders between the ages of 7 and 18 who have allegedly committed a minor crime

Application Process: Call for information on how to become a court member; offenders are referred through the legal system

Required Documentation: No documentation initially required
