Potsdam Humane Society, Inc.


Provides shelter and fostering services for cats and dogs awaiting adoption. Offers Project Spay Neuter Intervention Program (Project SNIP), which is an affordable option for low income individuals or barn cat control. 
Provides a free adoption program for seniors age 60 and older to adopt pets ages 7 and older, and waives adoption fees for active duty or persons who have been honorably discharged from the U.S. Military. 

Eligibility: Adoption: Individuals 18 years or older; Project Spay Neuter Intervention Program: Low income individuals and families in need of spay/neuter services, must provide proof of income

Application Process: Adoption process: File an application online, mail, or in person; interview conducted by shelter staff, references checked

Fees: Adoption fees: $100 for dogs, $150 for puppies, $60 for cats, $85 for kittens; prices for small pets and reptiles vary
